Starbuck's

I never thought I would have any reason to enter a Starbuck's before. But I caved...and I see how so many millions have become addicted.

I suppose it all started with our most recent move. I offered to buy the mover's a drink and I used my money to purchase tea and coffee. I haven't figured out what degree of sinning that was. I wanted to keep the movers happy and I wasn't sure how I could refuse to get them a drink after I had offered. Later on, Mark told me how we don't allow coffee in our house. I didn't respond...I told him we could talk about it later.

So now I'm in management and I get to play the fun political/social games. I have to stay up to date on sports (not just college football) to carry on a social conversation. And living in central Virginia, golf and fishing are especially relevant.

Now I'm a social drinker as well. I carry a bottle of water (filled from the nearest drinking fountain...why do people spend so much money on bottled water?!?!) with me everywhere I go. And yes, I have had a Starbuck's cup in my hand...and I'm addicted. Someone introduced me to the Caramel Apple Cider. mmmmmm. It is a heavenly combination of sweet and tart. And I am addicted. I can't wait for the next one. I had no idea Starbuck's offered more than coffee. I've been so sheltered. But I'm not sure what level of sin I am committing now. I'm conflicted with a moral struggle of supporting a chain known for its coffee. So my question to you...should I sever the ties? Regardless of your answer, I do highly recommend the Caramel Apple Cider at Starbuck's.

I have heard about that Cider. Everyone that has had it can't stop raving about it. I don't think it's sinning but Starbucks is loosing money and starting to lay people off. Because they are finally realizing that people aren't as ready to pay 5 bucks for a cup of coffee but maybe people will pay 5 bucks for some hot cider?? Who knows!!!! Just don't go overboard!

I won't judge you for going to starbucks if you don't judge me for liking basically the frozen version of starbucks....ice cream.

Oh, but I wouldn't often refer to yourself as a "social drinker". I think it has a different connotation that you think.

Now, go clarify things for Mark, will you?

I really love their hot chocolate. They have lots of different flavors. Somehow it seems less bad to get it through the drive-thru. Hmmm. Not sure where that falls on the sin continuum. But it's too expensive for me to get it very often. So that's how I console myself.

Ok, the Caramel Apple Cider is delicious but their Peppermint White Hot Chocolate is TO DIE FOR! How can it feel wrong to be drinking flavored steamed milk? Why didn't our parents think of this when we were younger. I am a huge connoisseur of Starbucks, must be from living in SF for so long. Not only are the hot chocolates good, but you should also try the steamers and the Frappaccino's. They sound illegal in our world of standards but really it's just a chocolate shake! Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm!
